1. Definitions and policy scope
“Memo” and “app” mean the installed Memo application; “WildBug Games”, “we” and “developer” mean WildBug Games. “You” means the person using Memo, and “device” means the phone or other device on which it is installed.
“Personal data” means information that identifies a person directly or indirectly. “Private Memo data” means the contents of your entries, media, projects, lists, trackers and local profile; it may include personal data about you or other people.
“Third-party service” means a separate provider contacted for a selected feature, advertising or a purchase. “Shared data” means information you make accessible without unlocking on this device. A “backup” is a separate recovery file; its protection differs from an ordinary export.
2. Information processed
Entries, dates, moods, tracker values (including health information), projects, lists, photos, videos, audio, local profile details and settings are stored on your device. Memo does not provide a WildBug Games cloud account or automatically synchronize your private diary to WildBug Games servers.
If you contact support, WildBug Games receives your email address, message and any attachments you send. Connected features may disclose technical information and selected content to the respective service, as described in sections 5–8. Information being present in the local database does not itself mean that WildBug Games receives it.
3. App permissions
Camera and microphone access supports actions you initiate: capturing photos or videos, recording audio and voice input. Access to selected files supports import and playback. You can revoke Android permissions; related features may stop working. Video recorded inside Memo is created in app-private storage and is not automatically added to the gallery.
Android asks for permissions when a feature requires them. Imports use files that you select. You can continue using text entries without camera or microphone access. Connecting Google Drive and choosing cloud input are separate choices and are not required for the local diary.
4. How information is used
The app processes this data for the features you choose: editing, search, charts, playback, import, export and access protection. The local activity log may include dates, action types and object names. Memo does not send diary contents or health values to advertising services for ad targeting.
If you send WildBug Games a message, screenshot or file for support, the company receives the information you include and uses it to answer and resolve the issue. Include only necessary information. Requests are retained as needed to handle them and meet applicable obligations.
5. Data sharing, imports and backups
Content is transmitted according to your action: export, shared access, backup or a connected feature. WildBug Games does not sell the contents of your private diary. Advertising processing of technical information is described separately in section 8.
When importing an image or video, you choose a saved copy or a link to the original file. A link does not move the original into protected Memo storage; an entry may retain a preview. Video transcoding runs on-device. Removing a Memo attachment does not remove a linked external original.
Making an item shared exposes selected data in shared mode on the same device without private diary sign-in; it does not publish it on a website. Shared data is stored separately for access while locked and does not have the same protection as the private database. Anyone with access to the device shared mode can view and change it.
Optional Google Drive backup stores password-encrypted copies in an app-private folder on your Google account. Free users start backup and restore manually after an ad. Premium users can enable automatic backup while Memo is open and unlocked, no more than once every 24 hours and only after changes. Google processes the account authorization and uploaded encrypted files under its policies. WildBug Games does not receive your backup password. Linked originals are not uploaded with a backup.
The Export button sends a file to the app or recipient you choose. HTML/JSON exports and ZIP archives containing them are not encrypted or protected by your sign-in PIN or password. Only the dedicated encrypted backup is protected by its separate password: at least 12 characters for new backups; older backups use their original PIN. Copies received by others are not automatically erased when you delete a Memo entry.
WildBug Games may disclose information it actually holds, such as a support request, when required by applicable law or a valid request from a competent authority, or when necessary and legally permitted to protect rights or safety. This provision does not give the developer remote access to the private database on your device.
6. Voice input and AI
If you choose cloud speech recognition, audio and your optional prompts are sent to the external speech recognition service you select, using your configured API key. Available external services depend on the feature.
AI commands transmit your request, project and list names, and tracker names and field definitions. AI formatting sends only entry structure, text block lengths, formatting flags, and object types and dimensions. It does not send entry text, filenames, captions, URLs or photo and video contents. Ordinary local editing does not send your entire diary to these services.
The provider receives network information such as your IP address and processes submitted data under its own terms, pricing and retention rules. Servers may be in other countries. Avoid cloud features for information you do not want to share with the provider. System speech recognition depends on the Android service selected and may use a network connection.
7. Link previews and external services
When link previews are enabled, Memo requests the linked website and, when needed, Microlink for a title, image and description. Some links use the relevant website catalog. The website or service receives the URL and network information including your IP address. URLs may contain private information or access tokens. You can disable previews in Appearance settings.
8. Advertising, purchases and your choices
The free version may display Google AdMob advertising. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically process IP addresses, advertising and other device or app-instance identifiers, interactions with the app and ads, diagnostics and app performance information. These support ad delivery and measurement, security and fraud prevention under Google policies and your consent choices.
Where required, Google provides a consent form. When Google requires access to change your choice, an advertising privacy options button is available on the policy screen. Android also provides advertising identifier settings. Premium and an active trial disable ad display.
Google Play handles Premium purchases and restoration. Memo receives purchase status and technical purchase data to grant access. WildBug Games does not receive your payment card number. Trial start and access status are stored on-device; Google determines its data retention under its own policy.
9. Retention and deletion
Personal data remains on your device until you remove it. Confirmed entry deletion permanently removes its attachments and saved content history. There is no trash. When upgrading from a version with trash, its contents are cleared. A video file is removed from Memo storage when no other entry uses it. The activity log may retain deletion metadata.
Data → Storage usage shows text and media sizes and lets you remove a selected attachment. Built-in app images are excluded from the media list. Deleting shared data without private profile sign-in applies to the private database when it is next unlocked.
Clearing Memo app data in Android settings or uninstalling removes local app data. Exported files, gallery originals, backups and recipient copies must be deleted separately. External providers determine retention and deletion requests for data sent to them.
Support correspondence is retained as needed to respond, resolve the issue and meet applicable obligations. Disconnecting Google Drive stops subsequent app operations with the connected account but does not delete previously saved backups; delete those separately.
10. International data transfers
When you use Google Drive, advertising, purchases, link previews or cloud input, the information described in the relevant sections may be processed outside your country. Server locations and international transfer arrangements depend on the provider; review its policy before using the feature. The local database is not automatically uploaded to WildBug Games.
Transfers for which WildBug Games is the data controller are subject to applicable legal requirements, including the required grounds and safeguards for international transfers. Using the app does not replace separate consent where it is required. Contact wildbug.games@gmail.com with questions about such transfers.
11. Data security and sign-in methods
On Android, the private database uses encryption and saved video copies are stored separately in encrypted form. PIN, password, pattern, biometrics and auto-lock control access. Android handles biometric templates; Memo and WildBug Games do not receive them.
In Security settings, you can choose a password as a separate sign-in method instead of a PIN or pattern. The password is checked on your device and is not sent to WildBug Games. Keep it private; losing access credentials may make private data inaccessible without configured recovery or a backup.
Viewing or processing media may create temporary decrypted files in the private app cache. Device security and the lock method you choose also affect confidentiality.
12. Your rights and GDPR
You can access, edit, export and delete local data, disable cloud features and link previews, revoke permissions and change shared access. WildBug Games cannot recover your device diary without a copy you provide.
Where GDPR applies to processing by WildBug Games, the basis is consent for processing that requires it, performance of a requested service or contract, a legal obligation, or a legitimate interest in handling support requests and preventing abuse, balanced against your rights.
Where applicable data protection law grants rights, you can contact us about access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection or withdrawal of consent and complain to the relevant authority. For data held by external providers, also contact that provider.
For information received by WildBug Games and to exercise your rights, contact wildbug.games@gmail.com. If verification is needed to fulfil a request, only necessary information is requested. Withdrawal of consent applies going forward. Legal exceptions may apply, including mandatory retention or legal claims; any restriction of a request is explained as required by law.
13. California privacy rights
Where CCPA/CPRA applies, California residents may request information about collection and recipients, access, correction and deletion; opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context advertising; and limit sensitive-information use in applicable circumstances. Exercising these rights must not result in discrimination.
Send requests, including requests through an authorized agent, to wildbug.games@gmail.com. For advertising, also use the available ad privacy choices described in section 8. Advertising SDK processing of identifiers may qualify as advertising sharing under applicable law; the statement about private diary contents does not mean that advertising services receive no information.
14. Children’s information
Do not submit other people’s personal information or children’s data without necessary permission. Observe applicable parental consent and age requirements when using network services.
15. Lawful use and content
You must not use Memo to create, store, import, process, export or distribute data or materials whose possession or use violates applicable law. This covers text, images, video, audio and other files, including child sexual exploitation material, prohibited terrorism-related material or incitement to violence, unlawfully obtained personal data, and material infringing third-party rights where such conduct is prohibited by law. These examples are not exhaustive.
You are responsible for the legality of the data you add, obtaining necessary rights and permissions, and complying with laws applicable to you and your activities. On-device storage, encryption, shared access and Premium do not make prohibited material lawful. These usage rules do not mean that WildBug Games accesses or automatically reviews the contents of your private database.
16. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Memo is provided as is and as available, without additional implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose. WildBug Games does not guarantee error-free or uninterrupted operation, absolute security or recovery of all data. Make and verify backups regularly and keep the backup password separately.
To the extent permitted by law, WildBug Games is not responsible for a user’s unlawful use of Memo, user-provided content, or indirect losses and lost profits. Any limitation of liability for data loss, unauthorized access or third-party services applies only where permitted by law and where the loss does not arise from liability of WildBug Games that the law does not allow us to exclude.
Nothing in this policy limits mandatory consumer or data protection rights, statutory guarantees or remedies, liability for intentional misconduct, fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply to the extent allowed by law.
17. Changes to this policy
This policy may change when Memo features or data handling change. The current policy and update date are available in Memo settings and the standalone HTML version. If a change requires separate consent, it must be obtained before that processing.
